NLE Choppa Talks New Film, Fame Pressures & His Daughter Saving His Life

NLE Choppa stopped by HOT 97 to talk to Nessa ahead of the release of his new movie Black Heat, which comes out tomorrow. He shared what it was like becoming a movie star, including doing a full fight scene with Jason Mitchell and being able to cry on cue. He talked about getting a kiss from Brigitte Nielsen, spending time with Madonna, and wanting to do more movies—including one he paid for himself.

He spoke about being the leading man in Summer Walker’s video and reacted to the viral video of her boyfriend drinking a drink with her toe in it. NLE also reflected on being left off Complex’s list of top rappers under 20, feeling overlooked, and why numbers don’t matter as much to him. He stood up for Kevin Hart, saying people are wrong to think he isn’t funny. He opened up about fatherhood, how his daughter saved his life, and the lessons his mom taught him about independence and being a leader. NLE talked about how he handles criticism, misconceptions about him, and the pressure to be perfect in the industry.
